You've Got Questions? We've Got Answers!

Ok, first things first.....what the heck is an "Air Bean"?

We get asked that a lot! An "Air Bean" is what Giuliana's (at the time) newly 2 year old daughter, Evelyn, called her "hair bands" and bows. It was such a fun word to say that her family started to call all bows and hair accessories "Air Beans" in their house. When the time came to open up shop, she couldn't think of a better name for the brand.

How long will it take me to get my Air Beans?

All bows are made to order just for you! Turn around time is 2 weeks. The exception to this is any bows in our clearance section. These bows are all ready to ship and are mailed out 1- business days after your order is placed. If you order clearance bows with made to order bows your order will ship upon completion of your made to order bows. Bows are shipped via USPS First Class Mail. Once shipped, bows typically arrive in 3-5 business days.

How does your product availability work?

We release a seasonal collection of solid colored bows every 3 months. These are available on unlimited release throughout the whole season. Once the season has passed, we will no longer restock last season's bows. They will sell out and be removed from the website as they do.

We also release holiday collections for Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Fourth of July, Halloween/Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year.

Every 2 weeks we hold a special "Facebook Live" Sale in our VIP Facebook Group. This sale features ready to ship bows in exclusive colors and prints. You can view the schedule of what bows will be available in these live sales over on the "Events" tab of our VIP Facebook Group

How can I keep updated for stockings and exclusive releases?

We post item previews, announcements, deals, giveaways and exclusive discount codes in our VIP Facebook Group, on our Instagram account and via our email newsletter. Be sure to follow along so you don't miss a thing! We love to see our Air Beans on their adventures so be sure to tag us in your photos on Instagram (@AirBeansBowtique) and use the hashtag #AirBeansBowtique when you post pics of your cuties rocking our bows. Your little one might even wind up on our website's front page Instagram stream!

Who makes all your bows?

We started out with Giuliana slinging bows at her kitchen table solo in the Spring of 2016. Now our bows not just by Giuliana, but by a team of seamstresses all over the United States! We are proud to provide work from home opportunities to women all across the country.

What are your headbands made out of?

We use super soft nylon headbands. These are awesome because they are ONE SIZE FITS ALL! Yes, you heard that right. That means your little one will never outgrow her headbands. They also are extremely gentle and will never leave a mark on your sweet baby's head. Many babies that are resistant to wearing traditional headbands will wear these. You can hardly tell you are wearing one. Really. Try one on yourself!

What kinds of clips do you use?

We give you the option of choosing between alligator clips with teeth or unlined, single prong alligator clips. We prefer the clips with teeth as we feel they offer better hold. All clips are removable and reversible so you can orient your bow the way you like and also prevent rust from the clip when you wash your bows.

Do you make custom orders?

We wish we could! But unfortunately at this time we are unable to accept custom orders. Let us know if you are looking for something in particular, though. We know of several awesome shops and would love to send you where you can find exactly what you need.

Where can I find information about shipping, your return policy, etc?

Be sure to check out our "Policies" page before making your purchase through Air Beans Bowtique.

Who designed your logo and branding?

Our good friend Crystal Rolfe of Cryrolfe Photography. She's a "jack of all trades" and is very talented. We don't know what we'd do without her!

Where is Air Beans Bowtique located? Do you have an actual brick and mortar store?

We are an eCommerce only shop at this time. We are based in Saint Louis, Missouri which we lovingly refer to as "The Lou". We are proud of our neighborhood and love getting involved with other local businesses and have recently begun appearing at local events, festivals and farmers markets....keep an eye out for us if you are local! We also hope to be popping up in your favorite local children's boutiques and online shops. If you'd like to see Air Beans in your favorite shop, click here for more info.

How do I care for my Air Beans? Can they be washed?

Yes! Because our bows are made from fabric and produced with very little glue they can absolutely be washed if soiled.

To wash your Air Bean:

1. If you bow has a removable clip, remove the clip.

2. Ideally, wash by hand using cool to warm water and a mild detergent. If necessary, you can wash your bow in a washing machine by placing it in a dedicates bag and washing on COLD, GENTLE and with a mild detergent. Do not wash your bow on warm or hot as this will melt any glue used on your bow. Do not sure bleach or fabric softener on your bow. IF needed, you may apply a spot treatment stain remover to help remove stubborn stains before washing.

3. If hand-washing, squeeze out any excess moisture by placing your bow between two towels. Take care to maintain the shape of the bow. If washing in a machine, do not allow the bow to undergo the spin cycle as this may alter the shape of your bow. Following the instructions above to remove excess moisture from your bow before laying flat to dry. You may use a hair dryer set on "cool" to expedite the drying process.

4. Once your bow has dried, use a flat iron (for hair) or a regular iron to crisp up the folds in the bow.

5. If you removed your clip prior to washing, re-insert clip.

6. All done!

My headband has become overly stretched out. Is there anything I can do to restore it's shape?

Yes! Take the headband part and submerge it in HOT water, taking care to not soak the rest of the bow and especially not the center of the bow (as this will melt the glue). Squeeze out excess moisture and lay flat to dry. It won't totally restore your headband to it's original tightness but it will help to reduce the size of the headband.

Can I convert my headband to a clip? My child is older now and doesn't wear headbands as much.

Yes! Headbands can easily be converted to clips by using scissors to cut the headband. Gently pull the headband out and discard it. We include a complimentary alligator clip with all headband orders! Simply slide it under the bow center. You can choose to hot glue the clip to the bow if you like after completely this step. That's it! Easy peasy. :)
